Schools out for the Summer – Important Information for Teachers

As schools break up in England and Wales for the Summer and Scotland and Northern Ireland are already enjoying their holidays, Little Troopers wanted to update you on the activity they have planned for its Schools Project.

Covid-19 has disrupted every part of our lives and it is the same for the Little Troopers at School project. This year we received £100k in funding from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund and The Veterans’ Foundation for our schools work. We had planned to bring a Conference and Road Show to areas around the UK to showcase how our charity can help schools, but things have had to change…

Louise, Founder of the Charity, said “We were so pleased to receive the funding for this vital project. Military children can have between 7-10 different schools due to changes in postings. We were really excited about the roadshow and bringing our Resources around the country to share with you. However, we have made the tough but right decision to postpone our Roadshow until the first half of 2021.”

So, you may ask How can you help us now?

Over the last year Little Troopers has been working with Primary Schools using our Primary Schools resource Pack, Military Child Wellbeing Course, Talking mats and Social stories for children with additional needs.  All of which are available now.

We are also currently producing a Secondary School Resource Pack and Secondary School wellbeing course template, which will be available this Autumn.

On our website you can also find a number of Information sheets for Teachers and Parents, including our Transition Chit and moving on checklist To keep up with our Schools project news, including details of our conference and roadshows you can sign up for our education newsletter (the sign up is half way down the page) or keep an eye on our Schools Facebook page.
