Little Troopers Press Release

Little Troopers’ Military Moments are to light up 2018

A collection of pictures showing some special Military Moments between children and their British Armed Forces parents have been brought together in a special calendar for 2018. The calendar, which has been put together by the charity Little Troopers, will raise money to help support over 120,000 children who have a parent serving for their country.

Louise Fetigan, Founder of Little Troopers said: “This is the charity’s sixth calendar, the pictures show many of the emotions experienced by a military family and some very cute babies showing their pride for their Mum or Dad’s work. We are lucky to share some very special moments with our beneficiary families through these images; it is a great privilege.”

Highlights in this calendar include:

  • Lucy Smith (9) from Aldershot meeting her Dad Staff Sergeant Martin Smith who serves with the 1st Battalion Scots Guards, off the plane at RAF Akrotiri on his return from a deployment to Northern Iraq.
  • Ava Joy Dunn (29 days old in the photo 18 months now) posing with Mum and Dad’s uniform. Mum is a Writer (WTR) in HMS Nelson, and Dad is a Sergeant with the RAF
  • Isabella Hallam (8) and her Mum Petty Officer Lindsey Hallam in an emotional reuniting photo, which was taken when Lindsey returned from a deployment on HMS Westminster.

Little Troopers aims to help maintain the family bond through events, resources and initiatives such as its new app Little Troopers Treasures. Little Troopers Treasures is a free, easy to use app that can make story time precious every day. Available exclusively to military personnel, it allows the serving person to choose a book for their child and record a video reading. It also has a memory box for parents and children to share special messages.

The Little Troopers: ‘Military Moments’ calendar shows a side of forces life very rarely shared. The sixth calendar (2018) which costs £9.99 (plus P&P) can be ordered now from www.LittleTroopers.net.
