Wow, What a Month of Military Child we had. We kicked off with our first ever Dandelion day and ended with our new Dandelion book giveaway. During the month we reached out to little troopers at home, at events and through schools.
Dandelion Day
It was so lovely to see so many people wear something yellow on our first ever Dandelion day. We launched a brand-new yellow dandelion t’shirt for the day, which can still be ordered through our shop. Children wore yellow to school, adults added yellow accessories for work and we even had some pets dress for some great pictures!
Schools
Throughout the month schools got involved using our exclusive downloadable schools pack. Over 850 dandelion resources were downloaded from our website and we saw some gorgeous crafts.
Fundraising
Over the month we had 12 fundraising events registered. Olivia and Phoebe arranged their own Get Cakey events. Phoebe raised an amazing £80 and Olivia raised £102 from a bake sale at her school.
Events
We held four events during the month, A special dandelion day at The Royal Hospital Chelsea, Our Family Fun Day in Tidworth and two online workshops. Louise, founder of our charity said, “One of the most special things about it, is that we get to meet lots of you in person. It’s lovely to meet lots of the little troopers who drive our passion to continue our important work every day!”
Dandelion Book giveaway
We had over 600 applications for our exclusive Dandelion book giveaway. The book is a new addition to our charity book collection. We had 100 books to giveaway free and they were posted out at the end of the month. Following the popularity of the Dandelion book giveaway we have added the book to our online shop.
Louise adds, “Our team spend months making plans for the Month of the Military Child, we hope you were able to get involved whether it was attending one of our events or creating some of our dandelion crafts.
