The Little Troopers Blog

See your name in Print!

How would you like to see your name in print? We want children from the British Armed Forces community to send us stories for our Little Troopers Gazette. We’re working on the next edition of our unique newspaper and want to include lots of your articles.

Louise, founder of the charity said, “At Little Troopers we love to let our military children shine. Our newspaper gets sent to hundreds of families, schools and other organisations that have contact with military children. We love the fact that our little troopers are part of its production. If your child would like to be a published journalist send us your story over the next couple of weeks.”

Our Little Troopers Gazette is a place where young people can come together to share their experiences of military life in print. Issy Rowberry did just this, and her article was featured in the Autumn edition. She said, “I wrote an article last year about my trip to Plymouth with Little Troopers. It was very flattering to be asked and nice to relive the experience by writing about it. Seeing my article in print was really exciting and I felt proud to share it with my family and friends. I really hope that other military children would have read the article and want to try out one of the residential trips (and maybe even write an article of their own!).”

Help with your stories

To get involved and be in with a chance of featuring in the newspaper, visit the Little Troopers website. You can choose from topics including ‘My Military Life’, ‘What My Parent Does’, ‘My School’ and ‘Where I Live’. We’re also looking for reporters aged 8+ to interview local military personnel, write sports reports and explore military history events.

Louise adds, “It is super easy to write an article. Each topic has a template or downloadable content guide on our Little Troopers Gazette page. The deadline for this issue is the 7th April 2024.”

The Little Troopers Gazette is distributed far and wide and a copy is included in every e50K welcome box*. E50k works with Amey Defence Services to place a beautiful welcome box into every new home* for military families.

* These are only distributed to homes within an Amey managed region of the UK
