Following the successful launch of Little Troopers Letters over the Summer we have added some extra resources to the web page to further help and inspire our network of little writers.
Making and keeping friends when you are part of a military family can be tricky so we created a scheme that would help to kick start lifelong friendships. Little Troopers Letters provides two writing kits; one for you and one for your best friend to help you keep in touch and become pen pals.
Louise, Founder of Little Troopers said “We know how important friendship is to our little troopers and we wanted to help them stay in touch. It can be hard to know what to write to our friends and get our letters started so we developed some writing prompts, a letter template and fun communication facts to give them some inspiration.”
On the website we have broken down the extra resources into two age categories 5-8 years and 8-11years. On the Little Troopers Letters page, you will find:
- The Power of letters sheets
- Writing Prompts
- A letter Template
- A step by step guide on writing letters
- Brilliant facts on Animal communication – “Did you know Gorillas hum a song to each other when Dinner is ready!”
These resources can be used with the Little Troopers Letters packs or independently. We bet the animal facts could be added to your letters to Mum or Dad if they are deployed too.
If you are moving over the next couple of months add Little Troopers Letters to your to do list. Little Troopers releases over 80 packs per month with the scheme initially running until the end of 2020. The packs, which are aimed at children aged 5+, will be available for British Armed Forces families and funded by our charity apart from a small postage fee. You can apply for a pack here. Please only apply if you are being posted within the next six weeks, then we can make sure the packs are benefiting children who are moving imminently.
