Hundreds of Smiles delivered this Christmas

LaplandUK, Disney on Ice and Theatres across the country have helped us give the gift of a beautiful smile to hundreds of little troopers whose Mummy or Daddy were serving away from home over the Festive period.

The Entertainment companies helped us spread some cheer through our Little Troopers Christmas Smiles initiative.

Louise said “Once again this Christmas season many British Armed Forces children had a parent serving away from home, we can’t bring every parent home but we can hopefully spread lots of love through our Christmas Smiles initiative!

The children were treated to free tickets to see Beauty and the Beast, Cinderella, Aladdin and lots more and ten families even got to meet the Big Man himself, Father Christmas at LaplandUK.

Lucy Mykytyn, mum of two in Oxford said

“We had such a great time at the panto. We are 4 weeks into 4 month deployment & it’s just what we needed. I’ve never known my 2 daughters to sit so still!!

“We applied for the tickets as it’s the 2nd Christmas in a row that my husband is deployed & our 2nd deployment in less than 12months. The Little Troopers Christmas smile initiative is just amazing. It’s so important that when our loved ones are deployed we have something to look forward to, as it helps to pass the time away. Some days are harder and feel much longer than others, especially when you’re only 5 and 3 years old. We cannot thank you enough for choosing us.”

Rachel Duncombe in Southampton found out about the initiative through her school said:

“We applied for the tickets to the show as my eldest daughter was told about them in her Little Troopers class at school. I thought it would be a lovely treat for the 3 of us to go whilst my husband was away. My youngest said she liked the music and the mean sisters were funny. My eldest said she like the whole thing it was brilliant. I think that the Christmas Smiles initiative is a fantastic idea to bring the family together and to spread a little cheer over the Christmas period.”

Louise added, “We just wanted to say a massive thank you to the companies who took part and the theatres in Leicester, Chatham, Stoke, Oxford, Newcastle, Southampton and Cheltenham.”

Any theatres wanting to join the 2020 Christmas Smiles Initiative should email us.
