We would love you to join us for Fundraise February! This month we’re calling on the military community, friends and schools to take up a challenge to help raise crucial funds for our work in supporting little troopers
Louise, founder of the charity, said “Every February we kick-start the year with a focus on fundraising. Whether you are an adult or a child, there are lots of ways that you can get involved. Popular events include a Get Cakey bake sale and Virtual Mountain climbs. With half term approaching you might want to sign the children up to a read-a-thon to get five minutes peace!”
Get Cakey
This year we’re encouraging schools to host a Get Cakey event on the 14th February. We’re thrilled that Cottesmore Academy in the Midlands have already signed up. We have lots of resources to help you organise your own event. These include, an action plan, shopping list, downloadable bunting and a Get Cakey pack.
All Saints Primary School in Thirsk has organised a ‘dress up like your hero’ day. Louise adds, “A big part of our work is supporting little troopers in schools. It is so special when schools come together to ensure we can support even more military children in the future.”
Tidworth 10k and Family Fun Run
If February is too hectic already, you can make a pledge to help us later in the year. You could sign up for our Tidworth 10k or Family fun run on Sunday 13th April 2025. The day will kick-start with a closed-road 10K race followed by a 1K family fun run for children of all ages. There will also be lots of family-friendly activities for little troopers to get involved in, as well as food, drink and entertainment led by Richard Wyeth.
Other ways you can support us
If you are not a runner or Tidworth is too far, some really easy ways to support us include:
- Doing your online shopping through Give as you live. When you register with the site, you can select Little Troopers. Then all you need to do is access your favourite shopping sites through the Give as you Live link. The shops make a donation to our charity, without it costing you a penny.
- Setting up a birthday fundraiser on Facebook. Some of our lovely supporters who have set up a donation page in place of receiving presents have raised over £6,000.
Everything you need to set up your Get Cakey event is here.
