As our children break up for the holidays, we want to help you with some suggestions for Half Term Fun. Online we have lots of craft ideas, some great books and suggestions for recognising and celebrating your little troopers.
Crafty Little Troopers
We have over 50 different craft activities on our website in our Crafty Little Troopers section. The activity sheets are free to download, and most of the projects can be made with everyday craft materials. As Father’s Day is just under a month away, you could check out the Father’s Day gift activity. It’s perfect for keeping the kids busy and providing a gorgeous meaningful gift.
Father’s Day card
We have the perfect card to go with your Father’s Day gift for the special military dad in your life. Our colour in Father’s Day card is super cute and lets the children show their love through art. They are just 50p (plus P&P) and can be ordered here.
Little Troopers Book Selection
If you are looking for a moment of calm, have a look at our book series. The original stories written by Donna David follow military children through the sometimes slightly different life they lead and the situations they often find themselves in. The series includes books for children with parents serving in the British Navy, Army and Royal Air Force. You can purchase the books, along with our brand new Dandelion book here.
Awards ceremony
As a celebration during the week, you could organise a family awards evening? Why not dress up, make a special dinner and present some of our certificates and medals to worthy award winners.
Playing Dress Up
Talking of dressing up we have some great dress up costumes for your little troopers. We have child sized, Army, Navy and RAF uniforms that will make a great gift. The costumes come in two sizes 3-5 yrs and 5-7yrs and can be bought from our online shop.
Take on a Team challenge
If the nice weather has given you a spring in your step, why not sign up for our Snowdon challenge and kick start your family training over half term? Snowdon is a great climb for all the family and we would love you to join us for our seventh trip up the mountain.
Louise, founder of the charity, said, “School holidays can be tiring especially if you have someone on deployment. I hope these ideas help your children have some fun and give you a little peace while they’re busy!”
