April is the month to celebrate military children

During the month of April we get to celebrate the amazing resilience and determination shown by our little troopers. April is the international month of the military child, this special month gives us the chance to reflect on the challenges of being in a military family and celebrate our children.

Louise Fetigan Founder of Little Troopers said “When we began the charity we were looking for a way to reflect the daily life of military children. Mum and Dad can be away at any time, missing Christmas and birthdays, they can move homes regularly, change schools and often leave friends. We came up with the term Little Troopers as they often take it in their stride and get on with life no matter what our unique world puts in their way.”

The dictionary term for ‘trooper’ is: A reliable and uncomplaining person. this is so true when speaking about the resilient children who have parents serving in the British Armed Forces.

As a charity we are determined to celebrate our little troopers achievements all year round through our Little Trooper of the Month scheme. The Little Trooper of the Month award scheme recognizes those Little Troopers who have had to deal with extraordinary challenges. The child of the month receives a custom made medal, certificate, cinema voucher and Little Troopers hoodie.

The charity chooses a Little Trooper of the month every month you can nominate your Little Trooper by visiting our web page.
