New educational resources for SQUAD 2

We have launched new educational resources for schools this week to accompany the second series of SQUAD. Series two of the podcast features interviews with adults who grew up in military families and have since built successful careers.

Louise, Founder of our charity said, “We developed SQUAD a few years ago as a dedicated podcast for military children. Each episode was developed for and features military teens. In this series we wanted to show military teens how their unique lives can positively affect their future.”

We want these resources used far and wide, so we teamed up with education specialists to create new classroom materials. These include a teacher guide and session overviews to bring the podcast’s themes into the classroom or Forces Life Club.”

In each episode of SQUAD series two, host Joel Mawhinney interviews a whole host of inspiring adults; Chef Adam Handling MBE, Actress Shelley Conn, Musician Jas Kayser, Rugby Player Thom Smith and Production Planner Karl Barnes. The series celebrates the unique experiences of military childhood and aims to encourage the next generation.

SQUAD is part of our Little Troopers at School project. The project aims to support military children in school by educating and developing resources for teachers. Funding from BAE Systems made SQUAD series two possible.

You can find every episode of SQUAD and the accompanying teaching resources here.
