Lots of our military children are on school holiday, so we wanted to help you organise some Half Term Fun!
Louise, founder of the charity said, “With many schools now moving to a two-week half term, keeping the family entertained can be a real challenge—especially as the weather turns colder and the days get darker! But don’t worry, we have lots of ideas and resources to help you keep boredom at bay.”
Online Bake-a-long
On Saturday 31st October, we have an online bake-a-long session with Kiddy Cook. Your little ones can join our host to make some Halloween Treats. You can register now and the full ingredients list will be sent to you, so you can get all prepared.
Crafty Little Troopers
On our Crafty Little Troopers page, you will find over 50 activities, there’s something for everyone. There are activities for the whole family or quiet projects that the children can do on their own. For Halloween you could make some Halloween bunting or chocolate ghosts to celebrate the spooky holiday. If you wanted to get super prepared, there are some Remembrance Day and Christmas Crafts too.
A Chance to Check In & Connect
The October school break is often the first real chance for families to unwind after a busy summer move.
If your children have recently changed schools, moved house, or are missing a parent who is away on deployment, this downtime is a gentle opportunity to connect. We have two beautiful, free resources to help support your little troopers’ well-being right now:
- The X-Ray of Feelings: A thoughtful activity tool to help your children open up, check in, and express exactly how they are feeling inside.
- Printable Affirmation Cards: A fantastic way to boost family morale! Simply print them out and have fun hiding them around the house to surprise your kids and lift everyone’s spirits.
Louise adds, “The October school break is a wonderful chance to catch up, slow down, and connect as a family. We hope these resources bring plenty of smiles to your home!”
All of the resources above can be found on our new look website in the At Home section.
