We are inviting families to come together and make memories in Portland. The first of our 2026 Family Reconnection weekends, which are part of our All-together programme, will take place in May. You can register your interest now.
Louise, Founder of our charity said, “It is a really tricky time for everyone who is serving with the British Armed Forces at the moment. Family connections are more important than ever. Our Family reconnection weekends are for anyone facing a deployment or having just returned home.”
During the weekend in Portland, families will get the chance to take part in a variety of activities. These include a variety of water sports, including coasteering and fart building. There will also be a spot of survival techniques; learning coastal bushcraft and cooking fish on a fire. Over the weekend there will be child only time, adult only time and time to share as a group.
Louise adds, “We love offering an off-grid experience where families get to enjoy various adventurous activities with other military children and parents.”
The details and registration
The weekends, which will run from Friday evening to Sunday, are open to families with one or both parents and up to four children aged 9-18 (school year 4+). Families will be given their own private bedroom. The experience is funded so no cost to you, however it’s your responsibility to get your family to and from the activity centre.
