Our first fundraising run raised £6,500!

Our first fundraising run raised £6,500 for our charity. More than 400 people braved the wet weather in Aldershot at the weekend for a 10K race and family event. The day was a spectacular finale to the Month of the Military Child.

Runners from across Aldershot and beyond laced up their trainers. Raceways Events, supported by RUK Systems, organised the 10K closed-road race starting and finishing at Aldershot Military Stadium.

More than 150 children then completed a kids’ fun run around the Stadium track. Runners included 3-year-old Max who raised an incredible £850 and 9-year-old Cyrus who was sponsored to dance around the track. All the children went home with a medal and certificate. Our team also arranged lots of fun family activities including crafting, circus skills and crazy golf.

Louise, founder of our charity, comments: “Thank you so much to everyone in Aldershot who came to support our event. It was incredible to see so many people come out to support our charity. It was a real privilege to spend the day celebrating the Month of the Military Child with so many children from the Aldershot community. I hope they all went home feeling like very special little troopers. As a small charity, events like this make such a big difference to the work we do. A big thank you our headline sponsor and event facilitator, RUK Systems, without which, this event would not be possible.”

Kirsty Leahy, Events and Marketing Manager for Raceways Events, said: “Little Troopers is a wonderful charity and we are incredibly proud to have organised the first Little Troopers 10K race. I want to say a big thank you to everyone who helped to pull this together and all of our wonderful volunteers, including the cadets who did a sterling job of keeping our runners safe on a new course!”

Our work

Every penny raised in Aldershot will support the crucial work that we do. We provide resources, initiatives and events for military children nationwide. This includes our Little Troopers at School programme, Little Trooper of the Month awards, and Little Troopers at Home resources. Also, we cannot forget our annual Christmas Smiles campaign.

See you at Army V Navy
