Looking for a fun family project?

We know that the summer holidays can be endless – why not take on a fun family project? Organising a fundraising event is something everyone can get involved in; making plans, colouring posters or asking for donations.  Our charity is small but with big plans and we rely on our supporters to fund our work.

Louise, founder of our charity, said “We know that it can be hard to find something that everyone wants to do over the holidays. Fundraising can bring everyone together and provide much needed support for our work. We have lots of fun ideas for ways to raise money.”

Fundraising Ideas

In our fundraising website section, you will find activities for bakers, bookworms and the brave:

Get Cakey – A bake sale is always popular and you could embrace the summer weather and invite your neighbours along. You can order a Get Cakey fundraising pack, which includes cupcake toppers, stickers, badges and chefs hats (to decorate).

Read-a-thon – If you have a bookworm in the house or your children are taking on the library’s summer book challenge you could get friends and family to sponsor them. We have a Read-a-Thon activity sheet to give you some ideas and get you started.

Virtual Mountain Challenge – If you want to take on an epic challenge but cannot travel or are scared of heights, why not join us for a virtual climb? You can walk, bike or run the distance of Mount Snowdon, Mount Everest or Mount Kilimanjaro. Or if you are feeling really fit you can aim for 267km, which is the total distance of all three! All of the information you need for this challenge can be found here.

Louise adds, “If you do not fancy these challenges we have lots more ideas on our fundraising page. We also have a special child fundraising event planner so they can work with you to organise the activity. We hope you can help us and I hope you have a lovely summer.”
