Jay raises over £1,000 for Little Troopers

Little Troopers has received over £1,000 from a fundraiser who ran 60km under the hot sun in Cyprus. Jay who serves with 84 Squadron at RAF Akrotiri ran from Mount Olympus in Cyprus to Dreamers Bay all the way to the South.

When commenting on the challenge ahead Jay said “In support of Little Troopers and the amazing work they do to support serving families, I’ll be trying to outrun the heat! I will have support from friends along the way for energy and hydration (and amusement!)”.

Louise, founder of the charity said, “A 60km run is incredible in itself, but in the heat of the Cypriot sun is an amazing achievement. We are so grateful to Jay and his friends for sponsoring him.”

Anyone can set up a fundraising event for Little Troopers. If a running event appeals, the charity has a running vest which can be bought from the online shop. It costs just £9.00 (plus P&P) and comes in different sizes for men and women.

Every single penny of the money raised goes directly back into the charity’s work, ensuring the support provided to military children can continue. It funds vital projects, resources and initiatives such as Little Troopers Treasures, Little Troopers at School and Little Trooper of the Month. This work is fundamental for the children of our British Armed Forces, especially at times when they experience repeated separation from their serving parent(s) and moving home and school regularly.

If you would like to set up a fundraising event we have lots of ideas and resources in our Fundraising section.
