Exclusive cinema trip for Christmas Smiles

Over 400 little troopers and their family attended an exclusive cinema trip to see the Christmas film, The Grinch, as part of our Christmas Smiles campaign. We organised the special screening at five ODEON locations across the UK; Harrogate, Bournemouth, Norwich, Oxford and Colchester.

Louise, founder of our charity comments: “Christmas Smiles is all about bringing smiles to military children, especially those who will have a parent deployed during the holidays. We chose five locations where we know there are lots of military children. It’s wonderful that we can bring them together and start the excitement for Christmas by watching a festive film.”

One of the little troopers Mum Becky, said “Thank you for organising it! My children absolutely loved it”

The cinema event is just one of many things that we are doing to support military children this Christmas. We’ve already distributed 2,500 Christmas Smiles boxes to military children across the UK. In addition, we have hosted several online events to reach children in more remote locations and those based overseas.

The fun of Christmas Smiles will continue this Friday (22nd December at 2pm). We are celebrating the school holidays by hosting a Christmas Party! Run by Non-Stop Kids. This fun 45-minute show will have your children leaping about, rolling around with laughter and getting into the Christmas spirit! You can now book your party place here.

Louise, adds: “I know some children broke up from school last Friday. This week may feel like it lasts forever as their excitement builds. If you need five minutes peace or something to keep little hands busy check out our Crafty Little Troopers activities. There are several Christmas themed crafts and some mindfulness colouring sheets to help restore some calm!”
