It’s official Advent has started – the countdown to Christmas has begun!  For many the Festive period brings great joy, for others especially those who have someone deployed over Christmas it can be tough. That’s why we are launching Christmas Smiles for Little Troopers 2020!

Louise, Founder of the Charity said “Christmas Smiles has always been about finding activities that help take children’s minds off the fact that their Mum or Dad is serving away. It is lovely to help them feel special and give them something happy to talk about to their Serving parent when they get a chance to catch up. This year has had to be slightly different for obvious reasons. Covid has affected lots of theatres and Pantomimes but we have had some lovely offers of support from some lovely companies and are thrilled with Christmas Smiles 2020.”

Throughout the month of December, we have lots planned:

• There will be Christmas Smiles social media giveaways every Tuesday
• Over 1,000 Bears from Build a Bear will be given to children with a parent serving away
• We have a very special Panto that military families can watch at home

On Sunday 20th December there will be an exclusive virtual performance of Cinderella the pantomime for military families to watch from home!! The panto will be performed by the fabulous team at Playhouse Parties. We will be sharing information about how you can watch the panto closer to the day. Our Christmas Smiles giveaways will be advertised through our social media channels, some of the highlights we have coming up are:

• Five Name a star tins from the Star Registry which will be sent along with a copy of The Night Catch book.
