Celebrating Little Troopers Treasures 2nd birthday

National Armed Forces Day takes place this Saturday and at Little Troopers we especially love this day as it is the birthday of our Little Troopers Treasures App. This year we are celebrating the second birthday of the App, which enables Mum or dad to be there every night for bedtime even if they are miles away.

When we started our charity, it was with the primary aim to keep our Armed Forces Families connected and help them retain the special bond even though they spend months apart. We are delighted that nearly 8,000 stories have been watched by military families through the App since its launch.

Louise Founder of the charity said “Family time is precious and one of the most important times of the day is bedtime. Often when children are tired, they get emotional and not having Mum or Dad home to read the bedtime story can be so upsetting. I love our Little Troopers Treasures App as it allows Mum or Dad to record themselves reading a book and then when the children watch it the book pages turn automatically – it is just like having them in the room.”

Mum Natalie said “With my husband away on a 6-month deployment and my children Henry aged 2 and Matilda aged 6 months old your app is so important to play to our babies so they remember daddy. They don’t understand why he isn’t here so they love seeing and hearing daddy.”

The App was created with the support from ABF The Soldier’s Charity and features stories provided by Harper Collins Children’s Books. New books are added every few months. Available exclusively to military personnel, the App can be downloaded onto an Android tablet or ipad. Find out more here or visit the App store.
