The Little Troopers Blog

Let’s celebrate Month of the Military Child.

It’s time for you to join us to celebrate Month of the Military child. Starting today we have a jam-packed month to help us celebrate our amazing little troopers.

You can download our free activities now. There is dandelion-themed art, recipes, colouring-in sheets and dandelion playdough. These could provide some perfect peace after a busy Easter weekend.

Louise, founder of the charity said, “I am so glad that the month is here. We’ve been making plans and putting things into action and now we’re ready to enjoy the celebrations. I am so happy that we have been able to incorporate a couple of face-to-face events, it will be so lovely to celebrate together in person.”

Online workshops

Our ever-popular online workshops start this Thursday. On 4th April military children under 10 years old can join us for a brand-new session combining Science and craft! They’ll learn how to make their own Science toys including a pecking bird, balancing robot and friction friends.

Further workshops include:

11th April – The return of Art Base drawing – children will be guided through how to draw a spring duckling!

20th April – Hosted by the dinosaur museum in Yorkshire, our online guests will get to see genuine and replica dinosaur fossils from their collection. The collection includes replica teeth and claws, dinosaur footprints and even a real dinosaur egg. One of the highlights is a full-size replica Allosaurus skull (sharp, scary teeth!).

Eight year old Cyrus, took part in the last Art Base workshop, he said; “I can’t believe that I drew an Ostrich! I am not very good at drawing and the lady showed me how to do every bit. I liked seeing the other children’s pictures too.”

Details of all our activities for the month can be seen here:

Louise adds “I’m so excited to celebrate Month of the Military child. I hope that we get to see lots of you at the Aldershot 10k and fun run. Don’t forget to keep an eye on our socials and your email as we have lots of giveaways and activities coming your way.”
