All Together deployment club is officially open!

Our All Together deployment club has got off to a great start. The maiden event saw 80 little troopers meet up and enjoy a fun activity while their parent was deployed. The event is just one of many planned for the next few months and 2023.

Mum, Sarah Squire, whose children took part in the Go-Ape event, said: “My husband is away a lot and is currently deployed for the second time this year. The children really miss having their Dad around and it is hard for them. It’s particularly hard as it’s the school holidays and they are at home more, so they miss his presence around the house. The Little Troopers event has been absolutely fantastic and it’s been a great opportunity to get the children out, keep them busy and get them to meet other children who also have their Mums and Dads away.”

Louise, founder of the charity said “Over the last ten years we have seen the joy that little troopers get from meeting up with other children from Armed Forces families. We wanted to put together activities to reach out to children of all ages and provide some distraction from deployment. It was lovely to see everyone enjoying themselves at Go Ape. Lots of pictures and memories were captured for them to share with their parent when they return home.”

The All Together deployment club will continue to grow, In the future we are planning events for every age group.

Our online workshops for children under the age of ten, will begin on the 10th September with a Mindful kids workshop, followed by a session with Pineapple Dance studios.

In October there will be a Sciencedipity workshop on the 8th followed by a ZooLab on the 25th and a Halloween Bake on the 29th. In November. 12th will see the return of our popular Space Detectives workshop and a second Mindful Kids workshop.

The workshops are free and booking for these events is open now. Visit this Eventbrite page to secure your place.

Louise adds, “This work has been made possible thanks to funding from The Veterans’ Foundation, The Henry Sale Foundation, HDH Wills, Prince of Wales Charitable Fund & Greenwich Hospital. We are so grateful.
