Aldershot fun run to raise money for Little Troopers

We’re calling on runners and families to join us for the Aldershot fun run to raise money for Little Troopers.  The event is the first fun run for our charity and we hope lots of people join us. Taking place on Sunday 28th April it will part of our celebrations to mark the Month of the Military Child.

Led by Raceways Events, the day will kick-start with a closed-road 10K race. The race will pass through the town centre, the Aldershot Military Cemetery, Aldershot Garrison, and the Queens Parade. Following the 10k there will be a 1K kids’ run for children of all ages to enjoy together. Both races are open to the public, with service personnel, military families, veterans and members of the local community all encouraged to come and take part in this special event to raise money for Little Troopers.

Louise, founder of our charity said: “We’re so excited to be holding our first ever race event in Aldershot. We decided to host the event in April, which is the Month of the Military Child. It’s the perfect time to raise money in support of the amazing military children in our British Armed Forces community. Aldershot has a thriving military community, with lots of other military bases and stations nearby. We expect it to be a busy day and can’t wait to see you all!”

Entry details

Entry into the Aldershot Little Troopers 10K costs £25 per person or is free for those committed to raising £100 or more for the charity. The children’s 1K fun run costs just £5 per family and each child will receive a medal and certificate.

Sam Taylor, Events and Marketing Manager for Raceways Events, said: “We can’t wait to bring this brand-new race to Aldershot. It is our first foray into events outside of the midlands. Little Troopers is a wonderful charity, and we’re incredibly proud to be supporting such a worthy cause with this event. The race will be run over an officially measured closed road course, licenced and insured by England Athletics and under UKA rules. It is perfect for PB chasers, elite athletes, age group warriors, community charity fun runners, and everyone in between. We’re looking forward to seeing an army of runners on the start line in April!”

Raising funds for crucial work

Every penny raised in Aldershot will support our crucial work in providing resources, initiatives and events for military children. This includes our Little Troopers at School programme, Little Trooper of the Month awards and Little Troopers At Home resources.
