30 Little Troopers had an amazing day out with the Chelsea FC Foundation on Saturday 16th April 2016. The children, who all have at least one parent serving with the British Armed Forces, were given a VIP training session at the Premiership Team’s training ground in Cobham, Surrey. The event was organised by the charity Little Troopers.
Little Troopers supports children who are growing up with a parent in the British Armed Forces. Parents can be away for up to nine months a year serving in the British Army, Royal Air Force or the Royal Navy.
Louise Fetigan, founder and operations manager of Little Troopers said “The children all had a great afternoon and by the end of it many were aspiring to be the next Willian! Several have a parent currently serving away from home, so this will be something special that they can tell their Mum or Dad when they come back from deployment.”
Warrant Officer Grayham Henry, serving with 4 RIFLES in Aldershot, said: “My son Oliver Paul Henry thoroughly enjoyed the training, he had played a match for his team ( Camberley Town Rascals under 8s) earlier that day and I was expecting him to be tired, however he loved it. Oliver is a Liverpool fan and turned up in his Liverpool kit! He informed us that he scored goals in the game and in the penalty shoot out. He was completely buzzing from his time there.”
