Alexis Donaldson
May 2020
Alexis Donaldson has been named ‘Little Trooper of the Month’ for May 2020.
Alexis’ Mum, Harriet, is a key worker and Alexis’ Dad serves with the British Army and has been deployed now for over seven months. Alexis has had to attend a new temporary school so that her mum can continue to work during Covid-19. We were so impressed to hear that whilst dealing with the challenges of a long deployment and starting a new temporary school, she had been helping her brother cope with the new environment as well as supporting other children who have a parent deployed.
Alexis’ Mum Harriet told us “She has been a real little trooper throughout this deployment and isolation and has not once complained. We are super proud of her and her siblings”
Louise Fetigan, Founder of Little Troopers, adds: “ We never fail to be overwhelmed by the strength, kindness and resilience of military children. We were so impressed that despite the challenges of deployment, and a new school, Alexis had demonstrated real caring and kindness to others despite feeling scared herself. During such an unsettling and difficult time this shows exceptional strength of character for one so young!”
Alexis will receive a Little Troopers medal, certificate and special prize as part of her award. Well Done Alexis, a real Little Trooper!
