Charlie Yule
May 2015
Charlie Yule Aged 8
Nominated by mum Lucy who says ” When Charlie was four his daddy SSgt Micky Yule was blown up in Afghanistan which resulted in him losing both of his legs and nearly his life. Charlie at no point has every let his daddies accident effect him in any way, he has been so brave and strong whilst still having to move to different locations as I am also serving and have been posted across the country. Charlie has moved schools quite a few times but at present he is excelling in every way at all subjects, trying his hardest and impressing me week in week out. He is quite a character and I believe if it wasn’t for Charlie his daddy wouldn’t have been so determined to achieve success to make him proud in the Paralympic commenwealth games where he represented Scotland at weight lifting (Charlie got to go and cheer him on) and winning the gold medal in the Invictus games. Charlie really is a Little Trooper and I would love to see him receive an award!
Louise Fetigan founder of My Daddy is a Soldier Adventures said ” In just four years since his daddy was injured little Charlie has had to cope with so much change whilst also having a mummy in the Army and to hear he has done that whilst always wearing a smile makes him so deserving of this award”
