Isobel Keating
July 2020
Isobel is a young carer who has spent lockdown helping her mummy Clare who is an RAF veteran with a degenerative eye condition which limits her vision. Because Clare was unable to receive her usual support at home, Isobel stepped up to help her mum with anything she struggles to do unaided. Isobel’s Daddy has been working throughout the pandemic at RAF Odiham while Isobel and Clare have been living unaccompanied in Poole.
During all of this Isobel has been doing her school work, enjoying her PE with Joe Wicks and even using her outdoor exercise time to pick up litter in the neighbourhood and help her mummy to look after an elderly neighbour as well.
Louise Fetigan, Founder of Little Troopers, adds:
“Isobel has shown so much kindness, strength and resilience in helping her mum during the pandemic. We were really moved by her entry and she is very deserving of our Little Trooper of the Month award for July.”
Isobel will receive a Little Troopers medal, certificate and special prize as part of her award. Well Done Isobel. You’re a real Little Trooper!”
