Cayleb Gardner – Age 5
Cayleb had surgery in January 2016 to repair a hydrocel. He has been so brave and hasn’t let it dampen his spirits despite it meaning he has needed a 4 week break from his much loved taekwondo. Just a short time after his operation Cayleb waved goodbye to his daddy ( whom he calls his best buddy) as he left for deployment on board a submarine. As if he hasn’t had enough to deal with the surgery hasnt been a success therefore he will need to have the procedure repeated. After being such a Little Trooper it seemed fit to nominate such a brave little boy who lights up everyone’s life with his smile.
Cayleb was nominated by his mum Laura and his father serves with the Royal Navy HMS VENGEANCE
Louise Fetigan, founder of Little Troopers says “the trustee board unanimously felt Cayleb had to win the award this month, such bravery and having to wave his daddy off. We try to award Little Trooper fo the Month to children who not only deal with the unique challenges of service life but also exceptional circumstances on top of that, Cayleb has definitely faced many challenges and at just 5 years old. We send all our love to Cayleb and hope he’s back to Taekwondo soon!”
