Milliana Greenman
April 2014
Milliana Greenman aged 9 years
Milliana is the eldest of three children. Back in 2012 when she was seven her mummy was six months pregnant and her daddy was serving in Afghanistan.
Millies mummy woke up in the middle of the night and couldn’t breathe, she was having great difficulty breathing in. Her mum ran into Milliana’s bedroom, shook her awake and handed her the phone whilst trying to point out she couldn’t breathe, Milliana dialled 999 and phoned for an ambulance explaining that her mummy couldn’t breathe. She managed to tell the operator the full house address. Within no time the ambulance arrived, Millie than rang her Nan to come and collect her and her younger sister Lacey as the ambulance took her mum to hospital, through all that Millie stayed calm at just seven years old! Not once did she panic or cry.
Millie’s Mum, Eloise, says of her award win “Millie is over the moon, I didn’t tell her I had entered her in, so it was a massive surprise to her. Thank you thank you thank you! I was nearly in tears writing and telling you the story as it brings back the memories. I am so proud of my daughter’s bravery”
Milliana’s Dad, LSgt Greenman, serves with 1 Battalion Welsh Guards and as a family they are currently based in Catterick Garrison.
Louise Fetigan, Founder of My Daddy is a Soldier Adventures says “Milliana at just 7 acted with such bravery and courage while her mum was ill and her dad away serving in Afghanistan, we wanted Milliana to know she was really special that day”
