Season of Goodwill – How can you help in 2020?

With Christmas just a couple of weeks away it is a time for Goodwill and to be thankful for everything we have. Hundreds of children will have a Parent deployed over Christmas and while it is hard all year round it is especially difficult at this time of the year.

It is no surprise that December is one of our busiest months and we could not do our work without the generosity of our supporters. Louise explains, “Our Charity relies on the support from individuals, groups and companies. Our Separation Packs, School Resources and Little Troopers Treasures app are vital in helping to keep the bond between parent and child strong despite their distance apart. Fundraising is essential so our work can continue.”

To give our fundraising a boost next year we are encouraging our supporters to get involved by organising an event during Fundraise February or sign up for our Snowdon Trek:

  • Fundraise February gives us a focus for our fundraising each year. As a charity we welcome fundraising throughout the year, but we chose February as our focus as we recognise the love between a parent and child that keeps families bonded despite the time they spend apart. This is the reason we chose Valentines month. In 2019 we raised over £2,500 and we had fantastic support from lots of small businesses and our awesome network of friends and supporters. You can find our more here
  • Our bi-annual Snowdon Trek will take place over the early Bank Holiday 9thMay 2020 (please note that the Bank Holiday will be Friday 8th May instead of the Monday). It is a great weekend to get together, raise some pennies, celebrate the amazing resilience of our Little Troopers and take on a challenge of a 3650ft (1085 metre) climb. This is our fifth fundraising trek up Snowdon and is organised to remember how the charity began. Everyone is welcome from across the Military community and beyond, please click here to sign up

Louise adds “We have lots of plans for next year, but as a small charity we rely on voluntary donations to carry out our work. We would love for you to get involved in one of our initiatives.”
