Relaunch of our military child award

Exciting news! – We have just relaunched our ‘Little Trooper of the Month’ award scheme and nominations are now open for this month’s award. The scheme recognises and celebrates children who have been exceptionally brave, inspiring or extra special in addition to navigating the day-to-day challenges of military life.

Any child with a parent or step-parent currently serving with the Royal Navy, British Army or Royal Air Force (regular or reserve) can be nominated. Nominations are welcome from parents, friends, teachers, welfare officers, community workers and anyone who knows an amazing Little Trooper.

Winners will receive a very special, newly designed and customised gold medal to mark their achievement.

Louise Fetigan, Founder of Little Troopers, explains: “We’re really pleased to be relaunching the Little Trooper of the Month Award. Our charity is about celebrating all the Little Troopers out there and this is one way we can do that by making these exceptional young children feel recognised and special for winning an award. I’m always amazed by the award nominations we receive and I can’t wait to hear about and share your stories. The children are also going to love our new medals which we hope they’ll wear with pride.”

Previous winners have included children who have had both parents deployed at the same time, children who have spent time in hospital or faced health challenges and children who have helped their peers or family members during challenging times. One such winner was 7-year-old Mason, who helped his little sister stay calm when she experienced breathing difficulties and had to be rushed to A&E.
